How does Books Monthly work?
Books Monthly works similarly to a magazine subscription, you simply chose and pay for a package that you like and I will do the rest. I will post your book to you on the first day of each month and all that you need to do is relax and find the time to read the book. After you have read the book you are free to keep rereading it or pass it on to a friend. All the books that are sent are can be posted through your letter box so there is no need to wait around to sign for it.
What if I want to change my subscription half way through?
That is absolutely fine, all you need to do is get in touch with me at
What if I have already read the book?
If, in the unlikely circumstance that you have already read the book that I send, you have three options; firstly you could reread the book and enjoy it all over again, or you could pass it on to a friend or you can get in touch with me and I will arrange an alternative.
What if I don't like the book?
If you do not like the book that I choose for you apart from the fact that I will be devastated you can either pass the book onto another person (if it was really, really that bad then you could pass it to somebody that you do not like) or get in touch with me and I will see what I can do.
What makes you qualified to choose a good book?
That is a fantastic question, as I don't think simply being well read and spending hours and hours in Waterstones makes a good book endorser. That is why I am a perfect book recommender. I have profiled over two hundred readers not just to see what books I am missing out on but to find out if there are any correlations between authors, genres, age ranges that exist. My sensible business degree and MSc has finally been useful!
What conditions are your books in?
All of the books that are posted to you have been read and enjoyed before but they are in the very best of condition. I will never post you a book that has lost pages or that is in a bad state. It will be in a similar condition to your friend giving you a book after they have read it.
What if you don't have the subscription I want or what if I want a mixture?
If I do not have the subscription that you want or if you want something slightly different please email me at
and I will be more than happy to help.
What is your favourite book?
Arrgggh there are too many to choose from. My ultimate favourite book is Sybil by Flora Rheta Schreiber but I adored 'I captured the castle' by Dodie Smith and' The Illuminaries' by Eleanor Catton the first time I read them. I cried when I read 'Me Before You' by Jojo Moyes and One Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hossein. I think Mr Hossein writes from a woman's perspective beautifully and I have enjoyed everything he has written. The book that I would read again and again is Adrian Mole 13 and 3/4 by Sue Townsend. I think it is hilarious!
What if I have read an amazing book that I think you should read?
PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH ME at
Claire@booksmonthly.com. One of the reasons I set up books monthly was to try and get myself and others to read books that I never normally read. I love nothing better than talk to others who are passionate about books.
